Consumers in Sri Lanka are set to feel the pinch as the price of Litro domestic LP gas sees a substantial increase starting today.
The latest adjustments, approved by relevant authorities, reveal a notable uptick in the cost of essential household fuel.
For a 12.5 kg cylinder, consumers will now have to pay Rs. 4,250, reflecting a steep hike of Rs. 685. Meanwhile, the 5 kg cylinder witnesses a price surge of Rs. 276, reaching a new cost of Rs. 1,707. The 2.3 kg cylinder is not exempt from the trend, experiencing a price increase of Rs. 127 and settling at Rs. 795.
This development comes amid global fluctuations in energy prices, impacting domestic fuel rates and, subsequently, household budgets.
