Former First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa has filed an anticipatory bail application before the Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court, seeking an order preventing her arrest in connection with an ongoing investigation into the financial affairs of the Siriliya Saviya organisation.

The application was filed through her lawyers today (05).

The Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) is conducting the investigation and has sought a statement from Shiranthi Rajapaksa regarding financial transactions linked to the organisation, which operated under her leadership.

Shiranthi Rajapaksa is currently in Singapore receiving medical treatment. She had previously requested additional time to appear before the FCID to provide her statement.
