Sri Lanka’s total export earnings surpassed the US$12 billion mark during the first eight months of 2026, reflecting continued growth in both merchandise and services exports, according to the Export Development Board (EDB).
The EDB said total export revenue from January to August 2026 increased by 4.26% compared to the corresponding period last year.
Sri Lanka recorded US$11.52 billion in export earnings during the first eight months of 2025.
Merchandise exports grew by 3.63% during the period, while services exports recorded a stronger growth of 6.59%, the EDB said.
