The Sri Lanka Navy has successfully rescued all 10 people aboard a passenger boat that encountered difficulties while travelling from Kurikattuwan to Delft Island.
According to the Navy, the boat ran into trouble due to adverse weather conditions in the area.
The Navy stated that warnings had been issued regarding the prevailing inclement weather. However, the passenger boat proceeded with its journey from Kurikattuwan to Delft Island despite the warnings.
At the time of the incident, the boat was carrying 10 people, including two operators.
All those rescued were subsequently admitted to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital for medical treatment.
