Postmaster General Ruwan Sathkumara announced today that official election notices for the upcoming local government elections are scheduled to be delivered to post offices across the country.

Speaking to the media, Sathkumara stated that preparations are already underway to ensure the timely and efficient handling of the notices. “All relevant official election documents will reach post offices today, April 16,” he confirmed.

In a further announcement, April 20 has been designated as a special distribution day for the delivery of these notices to the public. Postal workers will be deployed to ensure that the official communications reach households and registered voters promptly.

The move marks a key step in the lead-up to the local government elections, reaffirming the postal service’s critical role in supporting the electoral process.

Authorities have urged the public to check their mailboxes on the designated date and ensure that their voter details are accurate and up to date.
