Education Secretary to the North Central Province, Sirimevan Dharmasena stated that parts of the exam, scheduled for today ( January 6), had been shared before the test.
Approximately 22,000 students were expected to take the exam, which cost the government Rs. 150,000 to print.
Reports indicated that some tuition teachers in Anuradhapura and Kurunegala shared questions with their students prior to the exam. As a result, exam papers meant for 600 schools across 30 divisions were not distributed.
The Ministry has decided to prepare a new question paper and reschedule the exam. A complaint has also been filed with Anuradhapura Police to investigate and identify those responsible for the leak.
