Sri Lanka 'A' secured a strong victory against Pakistan 'A' in the first semifinal of the Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024, held today (October 25) at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground in Oman. Pakistan 'A' chose to bat first, managing a score of 135/9 in their 20 overs. Omair Bin Yousuff was the top scorer for Pakistan with 68 runs, while Sri Lankan bowler Dushan Hemantha made a crucial impact by taking 4 wickets for just 21 runs.
In response, Sri Lanka ‘A’ comfortably chased down the target, finishing at 137/3 in just 16.3 overs. Ahan Wickramasinghe led the team with a steady unbeaten 52, while Abbas Afridi from Pakistan ‘A’ managed to claim one wicket for 16 runs.
With this seven-wicket win, secured with 21 balls remaining, Sri Lanka ‘A’ advances to the final, scheduled for October 27 at 7.00 PM (SLST) at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground in Oman, where they will face the Afghanistan ‘A’ team, the winners of the second semifinal match.
