This announcement was made following discussions held at the Election Commission Office in Rajagiriya on 29th September. Meetings included District Secretaries, Deputy District Secretaries, District Returning Officers, Assistant Commissioners, and Deputy Election Commissioners to address preliminary preparations for the election.
The election is set to take place on 14th November, 2024.
