Anura Kumara Dissanayake, leader of the National People’s Power (NPP), has called on Sri Lanka’s Muslim community to unite with the NPP in the pursuit of establishing a cohesive government. Addressing a rally in Galle district organized by the NPP’s Muslim Brotherhood, Dissanayake emphasized the party's vision of forming a government that garners the trust of all communities in Sri Lanka, including Tamil, Muslim, and Sinhala groups.

Dissanayake highlighted the NPP’s commitment to inclusivity, stating, "Winning the election with the Sinhala votes alone is not enough for us. To win, Sinhala votes are enough. However, such a victory is not enough for us. We want to form a government to develop this country. Our movement is not exclusively focused on winning elections. Our movement does politics in the interest of truth."

The NPP leader also criticized current President Ranil Wickremesinghe, accusing him of defying court verdicts. "Ranil Wickremesinghe is going against court verdicts. While it is true that he is in power now, he is also about to lose power in the near future. What happened recently is enough in itself to disqualify him from holding power again," Dissanayake asserted.

Additionally, he made a brief mention of opposition leader Sajith Premadasa, stating, "I really don’t talk about him that much now. We just need to let him talk. That’s more than enough."

The rally also featured the virtual launch of Anura Kumara Dissanayake’s official website, further bolstering his political outreach efforts.
