The Governments of Sri Lanka and Jordan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a Political Consultation Mechanism, aiming to enhance cooperation and exchange views on areas of mutual interest.
The agreement was signed on July 10 by J.A.D.S. Priyangika Wijegunasekara, Sri Lanka's Ambassador to Jordan, and Majed Thaliji Alqatarneh, Secretary General of Jordan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.
The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Amman announced that this MOU will deepen engagements and facilitate greater people-to-people contacts between the two nations.
The Secretary General highlighted that this agreement marks a significant step in strengthening diplomatic ties and fostering collaborative efforts across various sectors.
