Colombo residents are preparing for a 14-hour water cut scheduled for tomorrow as the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has announced the suspension of water supply to several areas in the city.

The affected regions include Colombo 5, 6, Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia, Moratuwa Urban Council areas, Jayanthipura, and Pelawatta. Water supply will be disrupted starting at 5 p.m. tomorrow and is expected to resume at 7 a.m. on Sunday.

The NWSDB explained that the water cut is necessary to facilitate essential maintenance work under the Ambatale Water Supply System Improvements and Energy Saving Project.

In light of the impending water cut, residents in the affected areas are advised by the NWSDB to make necessary arrangements for storing water during the interruption period. Additionally, the public is urged to cooperate in conserving water both during and after the water cut.

The announcement serves as a reminder for Colombo residents to prepare for temporary disruptions in water supply and to take proactive measures to mitigate inconvenience during the scheduled maintenance period.
