The Sri Lanka Police has launched a new motorcycle squadron aimed at combating underworld activities and organized crime across the nation. Minister of Public Security Tiran Alles inaugurated the squadron by handing over the motorcycles at the Police Special Task Force (STF) camp in Katukurunda, Kalutara.
In his address to the Police personnel, Minister Alles emphasized the primary objective of eliminating criminal elements in Sri Lanka. He encouraged officers to use their weapons without hesitation for the greater good, assuring them of the authorities' full support for righteous actions.
Minister Alles also announced plans for additional special teams to be deployed if the current squadron's efforts prove insufficient in achieving their objectives. He reiterated the importance of collective efforts towards their shared goal, highlighting recent salary increases and perks as part of the government's commitment to law enforcement.
