The Colombo District Court has issued a permanent injunction preventing former President Maithripala Sirisena from acting as the chairman of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP).
The injunction follows a complaint filed by SLFP executive committee member Montague Sarathchandra and will remain effective until the conclusion of the trial.
This marks the second court order from the Colombo District Court restraining Sirisena from serving as the SLFP chairman. The previous order stemmed from a case filed by former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga.
