Three individuals, including two children from the same family, tragically lost their lives in a head-on collision between a lorry and a three-wheeler on the Elpitiya – Aviththawa main road.
According to police reports, the victims were the 68-year-old driver of the three-wheeler, his 10-year-old grandson, and his 7-year-old granddaughter.
Additionally, the wife of the deceased driver and an 18-year-old girl who sustained injuries in the collision have been hospitalized.
The police have taken the lorry driver involved in the accident into custody for further investigation.
