A Gazette Extraordinary issued yesterday has declared all services related to the supply of electricity and distribution of petroleum products and fuel as essential services.
The notification, issued by Secretary to the President Saman Ekanayake, emphasizes the critical nature of these services for the functioning of essential infrastructure and daily life.
