The State Ministry of Home Affairs has declared April 15 as a public holiday for all state employees, according to Ministry Secretary Pradeep Yasarathna.
This decision comes in light of the upcoming National Oil Anointing Ceremony scheduled for Monday, April 15.
Home Affairs State Minister Ashoka Priyantha revealed that numerous requests had been received from both state officials and the public to designate April 15 as a public holiday due to the approaching Sinhala and Tamil New Year festivities.
