The Court of Appeals has scheduled the delivery of its decision regarding the writ application seeking to quash the remand order on former Minister of Health Keheliya Rambukwella. The court will communicate its decision on April 30, 2024,
Former Minister Rambukwella initiated the petition to invalidate the remand order issued by the Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court under the Public Property Act. This order remanded him until the completion of the trial concerning the alleged substandard immunoglobulin vials scandal.
Simultaneously, the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) has filed an interim petition, seeking court permission to intervene and present relevant facts regarding Rambukwella’s petition. BASL's interim petition aims for the dismissal of Rambukwella’s writ application.
