MP Rohitha Abeygunawardena announced the decision to permit the registration of high-capacity motorcycles.
He said the income generated from these registrations will fund the acquisition of similar motorcycles for the Sri Lanka Police, catering to their specific requirements.
Abeygunawardena expressed gratitude to President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Public Security Minister Tiran Alles and Transport Minister Bandula Gunawardene for supporting the proposal to register motorcycles with high-capacity engines.
