The Castle Street Hospital for Women in Colombo has launched a pioneering program allowing fathers to accompany their partners into the delivery room during childbirth.
Director of the hospital, Dr. Ajith Danthanarayana, revealed the institution's pride in becoming the first government hospital to embrace such an initiative. He underscored the significance of this step forward in maternal care.
Dr. Danthanarayana elaborated on the logistics, stating that individual rooms within the maternity ward have been specially designated for each mother, ensuring privacy and comfort.
The program is anticipated to revolutionize the birthing experience, offering women the emotional support and companionship of their partners during childbirth, fostering a conducive environment for delivery.
