The Court of Appeal has scheduled the Contempt of Court case against former Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe for July 10.
Attorney-at-Law Dimitri Shiraz Augustus Pietrangeli filed the application, accusing the former Minister of contemptuous behavior during a parliamentary session on November 8, 2023.
The petitioner is also seeking an order to impose a sentence on the former Minister under Article 105(3) of the constitution. According to the petitioner, the respondent made several allegations during the parliamentary session regarding the motives behind interim orders issued by Justice Nissanka Bandula Karunaratne.
