A Management Assistant in the Transport Division of the Ministry of Health has been arrested by officials from the Bribery or Corruption Allegations Investigation Commission in connection with an incident involving the alleged acceptance of a bribe of Rs. 80,000.
The bribe was allegedly taken to remove a vehicle from the blacklist and provide a report.
The arrest follows a complaint made by a person in the Galigamuwa, Boyagama area, leading to investigations and subsequent arrest.
According to the commission, the suspect was arrested when the complainant went to the Ministry of Health to deliver the requested bribe money.
The suspect was arrested by officers of the Bribery or Corruption Investigation Commission at the main road in front of the Ministry.
He was to be produced in court.
