The Urban Development Authority (UDA) in Sri Lanka is gearing up to finalize investment plans for a comprehensive portfolio of 22 projects, spanning mixed development, waterfront, residential, IT, and tourism sectors, starting from the year 2024.
An additional 5 projects are currently undergoing clearance processes, as revealed by Anura Prasanna, the Director of Real Estate Management and Development at the UDA.
Prasanna highlighted that the projected revenue from these investments is estimated at a substantial 21 billion rupees. However, he emphasized that this figure is not the final value of the projects, indicating the potential for further growth and economic impact.
The diverse range of projects reflects the UDA's commitment to shaping Sri Lanka's urban landscape by integrating various development sectors.
The mixed-use developments are poised to bring a blend of residential, commercial, and recreational spaces, while waterfront projects aim to enhance public spaces along the coastlines. Additionally, residential initiatives will contribute to meeting the growing housing demands, and IT and tourism projects are anticipated to boost economic activity in these sectors.
As the UDA moves towards finalizing these ambitious projects, it signifies a significant step forward in the country's urban development strategy, with the potential to create lasting positive impacts on both the economy and the overall quality of life for residents.
