Minister of Power and Energy, Kanchana Wijesekara, engaged in discussions with the Ambassador of France in Sri Lanka, Jean-François Pactet, to explore potential investments and partnerships in the energy sector. 

The meeting, held at the Ministry of Power and Energy on Monday, January 08, focused on various aspects of energy development and cooperation.

Minister Wijesekara took to 'X' (formerly Twitter) to share insights into the meeting, highlighting that the Sri Lankan government's policies on renewable energy, nuclear energy integration, smart grid development, and energy efficiency plans were communicated to Ambassador Pactet. This signifies Sri Lanka's commitment to embracing sustainable and advanced technologies to meet its growing energy demands.

One of the key discussions revolved around a proposal presented by Electricite de France SA (EDF) concerning nuclear energy. The talks explored potential future partnerships between Sri Lanka and France in the realm of nuclear energy, addressing the nation's energy needs through advanced and environmentally responsible means.
