The Sri Lanka Police has strengthened its "Tell Inspector General of Police (Tell IGP)" public complaints service, enabling both local and foreign nationals to submit complaints and information directly to the Inspector General of Police through an online platform.

According to the Police Media Division, the service is already in operation and will be further restructured and enhanced this year to deliver a more efficient, responsive, and accessible public service.

The online platform allows complaints to be submitted in Sinhala, Tamil, and English, making it more convenient for a wider range of users.

Members of the public can use the service to provide information on organized crime, drug trafficking activities within Sri Lanka and overseas, criminal offences, traffic violations, public nuisances, corruption, and other matters requiring police attention.

The Police Media Division stated that all complaints received through the platform are promptly forwarded by the relevant divisional officers to the appropriate police stations for investigation. Investigating officers are instructed to take immediate action on every complaint received.

In cases where complainants believe that adequate action has not been taken, the platform also provides an option to notify the Inspector General of Police again regarding the same complaint.

The public can access the service through the Sri Lanka Police website by visiting the E-Services section and selecting the "Tell Inspector General of Police" portal. Complaints and information can also be submitted directly via https://telligp.police.lk or by email at [email protected].
