The second One-Day International (ODI) between touring Sri Lanka and West Indies was abandoned without a ball being bowled after persistent rain at Sabina Park.

After winning the toss, the West Indies cricket team elected to field first. However, continuous rainfall prevented any play from taking place throughout the day.

Following several inspections, the match officials decided to abandon the contest at approximately 6:35 p.m. local time due to the unrelenting weather conditions.

As a result, the three-match ODI series remains in Sri Lanka's favour, with the visitors leading 1-0 after their victory in the opening match.

The third and final ODI between Sri Lanka national cricket team and the West Indies cricket team is scheduled to be played on June 9.

The series decider will now provide West Indies with an opportunity to level the series, while Sri Lanka will be aiming to secure the ODI series victory.
