The 18-year-old, who races for AIX Racing, heads into the iconic street circuit after extensive preparation, including testing at the Red Bull Ring, simulator training, and balancing his racing commitments with A-Level examinations.
David, the first Sri Lankan to compete in FIA Formula 3, described Monaco as one of motorsport’s toughest challenges due to its narrow streets, limited overtaking opportunities, and constantly evolving track conditions.
“Confidence and precision are just as important as outright speed,” David said, noting that he had devoted significant time to simulator work ahead of the event.
The Monaco round runs from June 4 to 7, with the Sprint Race scheduled for Saturday and the Feature Race on Sunday. David will also race wearing a special helmet tribute to legendary Formula 1 driver Ayrton Senna, whose performances in Monaco remain among the most celebrated in motorsport history.
