The day’s journey commenced from Beligammana Raja Maha Vihara and ended at Tholangamuwa National School, drawing large crowds of devotees and well-wishers along the route. Participants gathered in significant numbers to pay their respects and witness the procession, which has gained notable international attention for its message of global peace.
The walk is scheduled to continue its fifth day on April 26, beginning from Tholangamuwa and passing through Kajugama, Yakkala, Mahara, and Kelaniya, before reaching its final destination at Independence Square on April 28.
Police have requested public cooperation to ensure the smooth progression of the event. While acknowledging the enthusiasm of attendees, authorities highlighted that certain behaviors such as crowding, pushing, excessive video recording, attempting to touch the ceremonial dog accompanying the procession, and taking selfies—have caused disruptions.
Officials urge the public to maintain discipline and respect throughout the remaining days of the peace walk.
