A group of 34 senior members of the British Association of Travel Journalists arrived at the Katunayake International Airport this afternoon, marking the beginning of a 12-day familiarization tour across Sri Lanka.

The visit, organized by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, aims to strengthen ties with British tourism and travel agents while spotlighting Sri Lanka’s diverse and emerging tourist attractions within the UK travel market.

These journalists represent some of the UK’s leading media organizations and are visiting Sri Lanka for the first time. Their itinerary includes key cultural and scenic destinations such as Sigiriya, Dambulla, Trincomalee, Jaffna, Mannar, Nuwara Eliya, Mirissa, Galle, Kandy, Yala, and Colombo.

The initiative reflects Sri Lanka's ongoing efforts to boost international tourism by showcasing the island's unique blend of heritage, nature, and hospitality to influential voices in global travel media.

Officials from the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau were present at the airport to welcome the delegation.
