The Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Toronto, in collaboration with the Canada-Sri Lanka Business Convention, hosted a cordial reception to welcome a high-level trade delegation from Sri Lanka visiting Canada to participate in SIAL 2025f one of North America’s premier trade fairs for Organic Foods and Beverages taking place in Toronto from April 29 to May 1, 2025.

The visiting delegation, led by the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB), aims to explore new market opportunities, build business partnerships, and showcase Sri Lanka’s growing potential in the organic food and beverage industry.

During the reception, the delegates had the opportunity to network with members of the Canada-Sri Lanka Business Convention, prominent media companies, and leading legal professionals. The discussions focused on promoting Sri Lankan organic products and acquiring essential legal insights into establishing and expanding businesses in the Canadian market.

Highlighting the event, the Consulate General invited the President of the Sri Lanka Chartered Accountants’ Association in Canada to deliver an informative presentation. He provided the delegation with a comprehensive overview of Canada’s business environment, outlining market access procedures, regulatory challenges, and key opportunities available to Sri Lankan exporters in the organic sector.

The presentation concluded with an engaging Q&A session, allowing delegates to clarify their queries and gain valuable guidance tailored to their specific business needs.

This initiative reflects Sri Lanka’s ongoing commitment to expanding its global trade footprint, particularly in high-growth sectors like organic foods and beverages, while fostering stronger bilateral trade relations with Canada.
