Sri Lanka has achieved a significant milestone in its ongoing tourism recovery, surpassing 850,000 tourist arrivals in the first four months of 2025. The latest figures reveal that 144,320 international visitors arrived in the country during the first 24 days of April alone.
India remains Sri Lanka’s leading source market, underscoring the strong travel ties between the two nations and the island’s growing appeal in the South Asian region. Tourism authorities view the continued growth as a positive indicator of economic revival and are optimistic about reaching the country’s target of 2.3 million arrivals by the end of the year.
Industry stakeholders attribute the surge to improved global perceptions, strategic marketing efforts, and expanded flight connectivity.
