The government has issued a Gazette notification outlining the monthly payments under the 2025 Aswesuma welfare program.

The scheme, which categorizes beneficiaries based on their financial status, will provide assistance to those in need throughout the year.

According to the announcement, individuals classified as “extremely poor” will receive Rs. 17,500 per month from January to June, while those identified as “poor” will be granted Rs. 10,000 per month during the same period. Beneficiaries categorized as “vulnerable” will receive Rs. 5,000 monthly throughout the year, and “transitional” beneficiaries will be entitled to Rs. 5,000 per month from January to March.

The notification also confirms that the previous Aswesuma welfare benefit scheme, implemented on May 17, 2024, has now been rescinded. However, payments under the old scheme will continue until December 31, 2024, for those whose disbursements were delayed due to various reasons.

Additionally, individuals who have submitted appeals or are awaiting selection for the new scheme will receive payments once their eligibility is confirmed. Investigations are ongoing to finalize the list of qualified beneficiaries.
