Three police officers, including a Sub-Inspector, have been temporarily transferred to the Mirihana Police Headquarters in relation to the investigation of the recent arrest of writer Kasun Mahendra Heenatigala by the Athurugiriya Police.

According to Police Media Spokesperson SSP Buddhika Manatunga, the officers affected by the transfer include the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the Anti-Corruption Division of the Athurugiriya Police, along with two other police constables. These transfers are part of ongoing investigations into the incident.

The investigation is being conducted under the guidance of the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in charge of the Colombo South Division. It follows a complaint filed by Kasun Mahendra Heenatigala, the son-in-law of the late veteran actor Jackson Anthony, at the Police Headquarters.

Further details regarding the nature of the complaint and the ongoing investigation have yet to be disclosed.
