President Anura Kumara Dissanayake departed Sri Lanka this evening ( December 15) on a three-day official visit to India at the invitation of Indian President Droupadi Murmu.

Accompanying the President are Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism Minister Vijitha Herath, as well as Labour Minister Anil Jayanta. The delegation left on Sri Lankan Airlines Flight UL 195 and is expected to arrive in India at 5:30 PM today (December 15).

During the visit, President Dissanayake will hold high-level bilateral discussions with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, focusing on significant issues of mutual interest. 

As part of his agenda, the President will participate in a business forum in New Delhi, aimed at strengthening investment and trade ties between the two countries.

He is also scheduled to meet with Indian President Droupadi Murmu and other prominent officials, including, Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Health Minister J.P. Nadda

The delegation will also visit the Mahabodhi Temple in Bodh Gaya on December 17 before returning to Sri Lanka via New Delhi, marking the conclusion of the state visit.
