The "Sustainable National Expectation Programme for South Asian Regional Disaster Preparedness (SNAP)" Organized in collaboration with the Disaster Management Center and the Asian Disaster Preparedness Centre (ADPC) and supported by the US Agency's Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (USAID-BHA was held on 13 th and 14th December 2023 at the Mariette Hotel premises in Colombo.
The main objective of the regional meeting was to introduce the SNAP South Asia Programme and to recognize the critical role of regional cooperation in emergency.
They inspected the functioning of emergency operation room, emergency call room of disaster management centre 117 disaster management centre, resource centre of disaster management centre and appreciated the importance of coordinating emergency operations in a joint mechanism of tri-service police and civil government officers in hasidi emergency operation room.
