Sri Lankan Researcher Wins Best Thesis Award at World Sustainability Conference in Hong Kong
Sri Lankan researcher Vindula Gammampila, representing the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, returned to the island on Thursday (27) after winning the Best Thesis of the Year Award at the 12th World Sustainability Conference held in Hong Kong.
More than 500 researchers representing countries from around the world participated in the conference and presented their research theses.
Gammampila presented her research under the title, “A Policy Framework for the Sustainable Evaluation of New Approaches to the Electricity Sector under Green Energy Methods.”
Her research focuses on developing a policy framework to sustainably assess new approaches to the electricity sector through green energy methods.
The award marks a significant achievement for Sri Lanka and highlights the contribution of young Sri Lankan researchers to global discussions on sustainability and renewable energy.
