Train derailment disrupts northern railway line

Train services on Sri Lanka’s Northern Railway Line have been disrupted following the derailment of a train, the Railway Department said.

The train, which was travelling from Polgahawela to Maho, derailed at the Pothuhera Railway Station.

The derailment has caused an obstruction on the railway line, resulting in delays to all trains scheduled to pass through Pothuhera Railway Station.

The Railway Department has advised passengers to expect delays until the obstruction is cleared and normal train operations resume.
