In an effort to combat the pervasive issue of drug trafficking and the underworld in Sri Lanka, a special police operation was launched today across the island.

Minister of Public Security, Tiran Alles, announced that the operation has already yielded significant results, with 83 suspects apprehended thus far.

Among those arrested are 45 individuals who were wanted in connection with narcotics-related offenses. The Minister emphasized the importance of cracking down on drug trafficking and the underworld, which pose serious threats to the safety and wellbeing of the country.

With this robust approach, Sri Lanka aims to significantly reduce drug trafficking and undermine the influence of the underworld, ultimately ensuring a safer and more secure environment for its citizens.
