Sri Lanka’s premier food industry exhibition, Pro Food – Pro Pack – Ag Biz and Knowledge Hub 2026, commenced today (21) at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) premises in Colombo.

Organized jointly by the Sri Lanka Food Processors’ Association and the Ministry of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development, the exhibition is being held for the 23rd time this year. The event features approximately 450 exhibition stalls, including international pavilions representing countries such as China, India and Germany.

The exhibition has been established as a major platform for connecting businesses with consumers (B2C) and businesses with other businesses (B2B). It brings together packaging specialists, exporters, retailers, manufacturers, food processors, distributors, entrepreneurs, investors and consumers, creating valuable opportunities for networking, knowledge sharing and business development within the food industry.

A special SME Pavilion has also been established by the Ministry of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development to support small and medium-scale food processors in Sri Lanka. The pavilion provides SMEs with an opportunity to showcase their innovations, connect with potential partners and explore new market opportunities.

The Pro Food – Pro Pack – Ag Biz and Knowledge Hub exhibition is expected to play an important role in strengthening Sri Lanka’s position as a hub for food processing, packaging and agricultural innovation.

The Ministry has emphasized the importance of industrializing agricultural outputs and strengthening value chains within the agricultural sector. With the government working to create a supportive environment for industrialists, Sri Lankan entrepreneurs are increasingly introducing environmentally friendly and innovative products to international markets.

The exhibition is expected to further strengthen collaboration between the agricultural and industrial sectors while opening new avenues for local businesses to expand their presence in both domestic and global markets.
