Speaking during the debate, Minister Dr. Anil Jayantha Fernando stated that the amendments were introduced in line with the current government’s policy agenda, with the aim of implementing a fair and equitable tax policy for all citizens.
He emphasized that the proposed reforms are intended to strengthen the country’s revenue system while ensuring greater fairness and transparency in taxation.
