Train services along the Upcountry Railway Line have been disrupted following a major landslide and rockfall near the 162/54 milepost between Bandarawela and Heeloya early this morning (04).
An official at Nanu Oya Railway Station said it would take approximately six hours to clear the soil and rocks that have fallen onto the railway track.
Accordingly, the Podi Menike train operating from Nanu Oya to Badulla today has been limited to Bandarawela Railway Station.
The official further stated that all trains scheduled to operate from Badulla to Nanu Oya today will remain suspended until the railway track is restored.
