Addressing the House this morning, Dr. Wickramaratne stated that he had received the Supreme Court’s ruling following a petition filed under Article 121(1) of the Constitution challenging the Bill.
According to the Speaker, the Court concluded that the proposed legislation, including all of its provisions, does not conflict with any article of the Constitution.
