Two people have been killed and four others seriously injured in a fatal road accident in the Mattakkuliya area tonight (16).
The accident occurred when a car collided with several vehicles travelling along the road. The car is reported to have crashed into three three-wheelers and four motorcycles.
Six injured individuals were admitted to the Colombo National Hospital following the accident. Hospital sources confirmed that two of them later succumbed to their injuries.
The driver of the car involved in the accident has been arrested by police.
Mattakkuliya Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
