Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe has said that traditional approaches to party politics are no longer sufficient to move forward in the current political landscape.
He made these remarks while addressing a meeting of the United National Party (UNP) Working Committee held at the party headquarters, Sirikotha, today (30).
Wickremesinghe said that although some parties believe that cooperation between the UNP and the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) could lead to political success, such an achievement cannot be secured through traditional political methods alone.
He stressed that the participation of younger generations is essential to achieving future political victories, emphasising the need to bring Generation Z and Millennials into the political process.
The former President further stated that moving away from conventional political approaches and carrying out a comprehensive restructuring would be necessary to achieve future political success.
