A key female suspect wanted in connection with the shooting deaths of a man known as “Kajja” and his two children in the Hungama area has been arrested in Dubai and brought to Sri Lanka early this morning (27).

The suspect, identified as Achini, also known as Anosha Lakmali, is a 34-year-old resident of the Katuwana area in Middeniya.

Police investigations have revealed that she had maintained a close relationship with “Kajja,” who was among those killed in the shooting.

Investigators have also found that the suspect was the person who made the last telephone call and sent the final text message to “Kajja” before the killings.

The woman had reportedly been living in hiding in Dubai before being arrested by UAE security authorities and remanded in custody.

A special team of Sri Lankan police officers travelled to Dubai to bring her back to Sri Lanka to assist with the ongoing investigations.

She arrived at Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake at 5.20 a.m. today aboard SriLankan Airlines flight UL 226.
