A special discussion is scheduled to be held between President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and the Maha Sangha representing the Most Venerable Mahanayake Theros of the three Buddhist Nikayas, regarding the presentation of Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thero before court in civilian attire.
The Mahanayake Theros have written to the Commissioner General of Prisons expressing their concerns over the matter, following the monk’s imprisonment pursuant to a court ruling.
According to the Government Information Department, the special discussion will be held today (October 8) at 1.00 p.m. at the Presidential Secretariat.
