Sri Lanka’s first-ever national pavilion at the Fine Food Australia exhibition has attracted considerable interest from Australian and international buyers, distributors, retailers and foodservice operators.
The Sri Lanka Pavilion was officially inaugurated by the Consul General of Sri Lanka in Melbourne, together with officials of the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB), Sri Lankan chamber associations in Melbourne and participating Sri Lankan companies.
During the four-day exhibition, Sri Lankan exporters showcased their products and engaged in business-to-business discussions with potential buyers. The event provided opportunities to explore market access, distribution and sourcing partnerships in Australia and other Asia-Pacific markets.
The participation also highlighted Sri Lanka’s capabilities in value-added food processing, quality production and sustainably produced food products, while promoting Sri Lankan brands and product identities in the Australian market.
Several other Sri Lankan companies also participated independently in the exhibition, further strengthening the country’s presence at the major international trade event.
The Sri Lanka Pavilion and participating companies received publicity through official institutional channels and social media platforms.
The successful participation is expected to support efforts to expand Sri Lanka’s food and beverage exports to Australia, strengthen international business linkages and create new market opportunities for Sri Lankan exporters.
