Sri Lanka has welcomed 1,567,007 tourist arrivals so far this year, according to data released by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).
According to the latest figures, 31,885 tourists arrived in Sri Lanka during the first six days of September alone.
India recorded the highest number of arrivals during this period, with 9,894 Indian tourists visiting Sri Lanka.
Significant numbers of tourists also arrived from the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, China and France.
The latest figures indicate that Sri Lanka’s tourism industry continues to show steady growth so far this year.
