Former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa arrived at the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) this morning (11) to record a statement regarding the ongoing investigation into the controversial MiG aircraft procurement.
His appearance follows the arrival of former Air Force Commander Air Chief Marshal (Retd.) Roshan Goonetileke, who provided a statement to the FCID yesterday (10) morning regarding the same transaction.
The investigation centers on alleged financial irregularities and misappropriation of funds in the purchase and overhaul of MiG-27 fighter jets for the Sri Lanka Air Force in 2006.
