Well-known Sri Lankan model, actress, and pageant trainer Chulpadmendra Kumarapathirana has passed away at the age of 46. Affectionately known in the industry as "Chula," she was a prominent and celebrated figure in the local fashion and entertainment circuits for many years.

She had remained highly active in the industry right up until her passing, having been seen participating in several recent modeling and pageant events. Throughout her career, she dedicated much of her time to mentoring the next generation of talent, notably running the "Chulpadmendra Catwalk Studio" in Colombo, where she trained young newcomers to the modeling industry.

Born in Colombo, Chulpadmendra first gained international recognition after winning the "Miss Tourism Model of the World Press Award" in Tanzania in 2006. Over the years, she built a multifaceted career, co-hosting major events like the Derana Miss Sri Lanka for Miss World in 2008 and appearing in popular television programs, including a memorable stint on the reality show Sirasa Dancing Star, where she was placed as the second runner-up. She also featured in several popular Sri Lankan music videos and television productions.
