The funeral ceremony of the late Venerable Rambukana Siddhartha Thera will be held this afternoon (21) under state patronage at the Saranankara Grounds in Dehiwala.
The remains of the revered Buddhist monk are currently lying at the Sri Sudharmaramaya Temple in Wellawatte, where devotees and members of the public have been paying their final respects.
Venerable Rambukana Siddhartha Thera made an outstanding contribution to the Buddha Sasana and Buddhist literature during his lifetime.
A large number of politicians, artists and other members of the public paid their final respects to the late Thera yesterday (20), commemorating his longstanding service to Buddhism and society.
The funeral ceremony is expected to be attended by a large gathering of Buddhist clergy, dignitaries and members of the public.
